A pediatric board certified dermatologist. A pediatric dermatologist is a dermatologist who has additional training and expertise in the evaluation and management of skin diseases which occur more commonly or exclusively in children. A board certified pediatric dermatologist has taken and passed a sub-specialty board exam in pediatric dermatology. To be board eligible for the pediatric dermatology sub-specialty board, the physician must already be board certified in general dermatology.
